Antikythera Mechanism Research Project

The Antikythera Mechanism is an Ancient Greek astronomical instrument that has been the subject of over a hundred years of research. Drawing together academics, museum staff and advanced technologists, the Antikythera Mechanism Research Project (AMRP) is an international collaboration that seeks to unravel the mysteries of this remarkable instrument. The Foundation’s funding has supported the research carried out in 2011 and enabled the examination of new evidence from the Antikythera shipwreck - a site that holds potentially crucial information for the project.
