A. G. Leventis Visiting Fellowship Exchange, University of Cyprus and University of St Andrews

In autumn 2015 the new A. G. Leventis Exchange Fellowship between the Universities of St Andrews and Cyprus was launched, with the first scholar, Dr Nicolas Wiater, visiting the University of Cyprus for 3 months. This innovative scheme allows colleagues to undertake a period of research in the partner institution while their teaching commitments are covered by an A. G. Leventis Teaching Fellow. During his time in Cyprus, Dr Wiater made significant progress on his forthcoming book, gave a public lecture on economic and diplomatic relations between Rome and Carthage between the late 6th and 4th centuries BCE and developed fruitful links between colleagues in Archaeology, Classics, Philosophy and Modern Languages. At the heart of the Exchange is the development of close links between the two universities on a range of different levels from research collaborations between staff to undergraduate exchanges.
