International Advisory Board, Hellenic Foundation for European and Foreign Policy (ELIAMEP) Athens

ELIAMEP is an independent public benefit foundation. Founded in 1988, it conducts research and promotes the public debate on European and foreign policy issues, aiming at the development of more efficient policies in this sector and the protection and promotion of peace, democracy and justice. In 2013, with the help of the A. G. Leventis Foundation, ELIAMEP set up an International Advisory  Board, comprising distinguished figures from the wider field of  European and International Relations from all over the world, in order to optimise the development of its research strategy. By providing cutting-edge insights and forward-looking data, this Board will help ELIAMEP to offer even more timely and reliable information for dealing with tomorrow’s challenges, especially through collaborations with internationally acclaimed personalities in the field including, in 2013 and 2014: Dr Bassma Kodmani, co-founder of the Syrian National Council; Lord Liddle, Chairman of the Policy Network; Prof. Volker Perthes, Director of the Stiftung Wissenschaft und Politik; Prof. Peter  Bofinger, Member of the German Council of Economic Experts; and Prof. François Heisbourg, Chairman of the International Institute for Strategic Studies and of the Geneva Centre for Security Policy.
